REMINDER: The Lake Oswego Lake Run!

The Lake Oswego Lake Run is a local tradition that began half a century ago.

Every year, in the beautiful city of Lake Oswego, runners from all over the area come together to participate in the Lake Oswego Lake Run. This event has a rich history in the community, and is an integral part of the city’s identity.

The run began in 1977, making it one of the oldest running events in the state of Oregon. It was started by a group of local runners who wanted to create an event that would showcase the beauty of the city and bring the community together. The first race attracted just 200 runners, but it quickly grew in popularity, and today it attracts thousands of participants.

The Lake Oswego Lake Run is a challenging 10K course that takes runners around the picturesque Oswego Lake. The course is known for its hills and beautiful scenery, and it is a favorite among runners in the area. The race also includes a 5K run/walk, a kids’ dash, and a post-race party with food, music, and prizes.

But the Lake Run is more than just a race. It is a community event that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds. It is a chance for neighbors to come together, cheer each other on, and celebrate the beauty of their city. The event is run entirely by volunteers, many of whom are local residents, and the proceeds go to support local charities and organizations.

The Lake Run has become an integral part of the community, and it is a testament to the spirit and energy of the people who call this city home. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, the Lake Oswego Lake Run is an event you won’t want to miss. So mark your calendar, lace up your running shoes, and join us for this beloved tradition in Lake Oswego!

This year’s run will be held on May 6th, this coming Saturday, and the starting line is on State Street at Sundeleaf Plaza!

I look forward to seeing you there!
